4 good reasons to get tested for HIV. 1. Getting tested is the only way to know whether you have HIV. Most people with HIV don't develop symptoms for years, and there's no way to tell whether someone has HIV by looking at them. 2. To take charge of your sexual health. HIV (and other STI) testing is a standard part of staying healthy, just like getting your blood pressure checked! 3. Knowing your status lets you take care of your own health and the health of your partner(s). 4. HIV is treatable and getting diagnosed and starting treatment early is key to staying healthy. People with HIV who stay in treatment live long, healthy, fulfilling lives.
